REPUBLIC DAY

26 JANUARY

January 26 is the national Festival of India. January 26, 1950 is a very important day in the history of India. On this day, the Constitution of India came into force and India became a full fledged republic from the British rule. Since then, January 26 has been celebrated as Republic Day.
Our country became independent on August 15, 1947 but we did not have a permanent constitution; Instead, Lord Mountbatten held the post of 'Governor General', the highest office in the country under British rule. On August 29, 1947 for the formation of a permanent constitution,  A drafting committee was formed under the chairmanship of
Dr. Ambedkar. After 2 years, 11 months and 18 days and many deliberations and amendments by the committee, our constitution came into force on January 26, 1950. And Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as the First President of India.

On this day a parade is organized in New Delhi every year. It starts near Rashtrapati Bhavan. Various detachments of the infantry, air force and navy run the exercise in their official uniforms. The parade features floats from different parts of India. The parade is broadcast live on television and radio. The children who received the National Bravery Medal are also a part of this procession. The procession concludes with a show of strength by the Indian Air Force. Celebrations are also held in every capital of the state, with the governor waving the national flag.
Today, Republic Day is celebrated all over the country, especially in the Indian capital Delhi, where the celebrations begin with the President's address to the nation. The speech begins with the sacrifices and tributes of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and fought for the code of the nation. The President then presents medals to the families of such Army personnel on the dais for their unparalleled bravery in the war of the soldiers. And honors and awards the citizens of India who have acted bravely in unusual circumstances.
