Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
September 5 First Vice President and Second President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan's birthday. Which is celebrated in India as "Teacher's Day" in his memory. He was born on 5 September 1888 in Tamil Nadu.
Prior to his presidency, he was a professor at the President's College, Chennai. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954. He was awarded the Templeton Award by Oxford University in 1975.
He is considered one of the best teachers in the world. His wish was to have his birthday celebrated as 'Teacher's Day'. Since then this day is celebrated in schools and colleges as Teacher's Day. On this day students become teachers and teach in the school.
