Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is known as "Mahatma Gandhi". Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in Porbandar to a Vaishnava merchant family. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi and his mother's name was Putlibai. Mohandas Gandhi's father Karamchand Gandhi was the Diwan of Porbandar State, besides he was also the Diwan of Rajkot and Wankaner. According to the Vaishnava tradition, the Gandhi family was a strict vegetarian. Until adolescence, Gandhi was a very ordinary student. His early studies took place in Porbandar and later in Rajkot. After passing the matriculation examination, he entered the Shamaldas College affiliated to the University of Bombay in the year 19 for higher studies. However, it did not last long. Many of his family members were working in high positions in Gujarat. His family wanted him to become a barrister. This gave him the opportunity to study in England.
He went abroad and became a barrister. He went to Africa to fight the case of the traders of Porbandar who settled in Africa. There he saw the dependent condition of the Indians and fought there for freedom and achieved success. Is. Gandhiji came to India in 1915.
In 1917, the first important 'Champaran Satyagraha' was held in India. He established the first Kocharab Ashram in Ahmedabad. Then Sabarmati Ashram was established. He announced a Dandi march in protest of the government's tax on salt. According to this program, the march started from Sabarmati on March 31 and reached Dandi on April 6, 1930.  He was an extremely gifted leader. He gave India independence from the British government in a way that stunned the world. His philosophy of non-violent movement had a profound effect on peaceful transition nationally and internationally. He put India's movement for independence from the British Raj on the world map.
He showed a completely new way of life. On January 20, 1948, Nathuram Godse shot Gandhiji. And he died. Thus a great warrior who fought for freedom for years passed away forever. His Samadhi is located in Delhi which is known as 'Rajghat'.
