MAHA SHIVRATRI
Mahashivaratri is the night of Lord Shiva's quote on earth. Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the day of Maha Vad Teras. Shiva worship has a special significance on this day.
At the midnight of Mahashivaratri, Shivaji, who was considered formless, assumed the form and attained life and ascended to earth. Due to which Shivaratri is considered to be the symbol of the union of Jiva and Shiva.
On this day, temples across the state resound with the sounds of Bum Bum Bhole and Om Namah Shivaya from early morning till late night. Devotees recite Rudri, Rudrashtak and Shiva Mahimna Stotram to please Bholanath.
Mahashivaratri is a vow to remove the darkness of ignorance and spread the light of knowledge.
